City of London cap badge for ID, please?
Hi All,
Can anybody ID this naval style, bullion, cap badge for me, please? It appears to have a connection to the City of London. It is approx. 72mm in width. Thanks in advance, Phil

Not Port of London Authority, who have their own Coat of Arms.

Not what I would call a sword in the first quarter. Is it an open book?

Hello Gentlemen,
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I agree that its not PoLA, although a city council badge did cross my mind. You have a point, Marc, about the 'sword'. It would normally be all red. I havent got the badge in hand yet but hopefully I can clarify that detail soon. Cheers, Phil

Hello Phil
It is a City of London Police Special reserve bullion cap badge - yours I think is the divisional commander rank. Cheers James |

No, I'm sorry but it's not. The design of the City Police version differs.

Ah OK Dave , it is incredibly similar . Is it the jagged edge you refer to as different ?

Yes, the shape of the shield differs on the police badge and so does the wreath. Also, on Phil's badge there is no sword in the top left hand quarter of the shield. I don't know what it is that is that is depicted, but it's not a sword.
