MILVA etc
Continuing.
When the regulations say 'Light Blue' who's light blue do they mean. *** Also when it states officers backing is velvet does that mean 'all officers' or just those that are Officer only Corps. Black and red velvet is a little hard to find for the Artillery badges. *** Missed another Rabbi badge last week. Marc

I do not know in what regulations you see that, but most blue here is "nassausblauw" (Nassau blue). More like the right one of the two pictures you show. Not particular light, but certainly lighter then "donkerblauw" (Dark blue) that is about the same as the dark blue, almost black, of Bristish "blues".
Velvet for officers is as far as I know only used on Geklede Tenue and the like (The dark blue/green ones) and not on Dagelijkse Tenue (daily dress). Do you mean this used for beret badge backgrounds? I am not sure I ever saw this. But I am sure there are members here with more expertise

Thank you Henk,
In both the books I have the backing is stated as Light Blue, but an image I found (now lost) has the Nassau Blue backing. I mean a velvet backing to beret badges. Is this for Officer only Corps, or for all Officers. Marc

Thank you again Henk, that means I do not need to look for more colours of velvet.

Marc,
As you probably expect, it is a baret badge. I have not found any documentation to date this type of badge, but I have only seen them on post war berets. I suspect these were made in the Netherlands immediate post war. Also the cheap material points in that direction, they all have a very thin slider. Most of them seem to be of a zinc like metal. however I have one made of copper, but with the same thin sheet metal slider. Regards, Albert
