Default Royal Horse Artillery

I have this badge of the RHA, a collar one, I think. There is a red backing and I can't find why. Thank you

I believe the RHA wore the standard grenade as a collar badge. This would have been worn on a beret.

It's a collar:

and 1 RHA https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=rh...=1494867407425

There was beret badge for 7 RHA of the same design but the single lug is a collar,

Hi

3rd RHA commemorate the award of a VC to 2nd Lt George Gunn at the Battle of Sidi Rezegh in north Africa by wearing a red backing to their badges.

Hope this helps

This is correct, although the VC ribbon is not red. The backing was officially granted in 2016.
