1st London Regiment - Army Number question
I am trying to find out if the Army number 2247 which belonged to Private Randall of The 1st London Regiment indicated he was a pre-war Territorial.
All help appreciated. Jon |

Jon,
In short yes if he is directly associated with 1st Londons. Some Regular soldiers had 4 digit numbers so without attribution to a TF unit he could possible be a regular. He would have been renumbered in 1916/7. see the excellent info on renumbering the TF from Chris Baker's Long Long Trail website. http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/soldi...force-in-1917/ all the best Mark |

His medal index card shows his new 1917 Territorial Force number as well as his original number.
