Default Royal Horse Artillery Edward 8th

Hi,

Just seen one of these sell on evilBay for over a hundred pounds. However, it was in white metal and not gilding metal as stated in Kipling & King, ref 1932.

The badge on evilBay looked correct and maker marked Firmin. Are Kipling & King incorrect or did this white metal badge exist along with the gilding metal version.

Have I missed a rare badge?

Thanks
Andy

Try this thread Andy -

http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...orse+artillery

There's another one by Marc (54Bty) that lists the whole lot and will answer your question but I couldn't find it in time.

Hi,

Found the thread by 54bty http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...tillery&page=2

It is very thorough and at no stage mentions a Gm Edward VIII badge (KK1932). Additionally it does not mention the Wm EIIR badge (KK1934).

So am I to assume Kipling & King is incorrect?

Thanks

I have not found any details of a GM Edward VIII badge.

There is a white metal private purchase badge, unfortunately I do not have any dates of when it came into use. It is still being worn by some today. Maybe I should add it on the list.
