Possibly the Senior Officers' School at Earlstoke, Wiltshire
A badge taken from the Accession Sheet inside the front cover of a 1946 dated document on Eleventh Army Group. I cannot translate the motto. Confirmation would be helpful. Mike

I believe it translates, roughly, as 'We have not the power' ['are not powerful enough'], if that's any help.

Perhaps this rather defeatist motto refers to the fire?
During and subsequent to the Second World War, the house was used as a Senior Army Officers' training school. In 1950 the main part of the house was destroyed by fire. |
