Default EARLY PATTERN QE2 PILOT WING

Got this from a Rhodesian who said it was from a pilot training program in Rhodesia .....I thought those where only wartime ...but this looks early QE2 period.Any thoughts on the pattern of wing?

It is a good and early post 1953 Royal Air Force pilots brevet.
