Default Abu Dhabi Police headdress badges

Good evening

The central badge arrived today and makes the 'set', I believe, of headdress badges worn by the Abu Dhabi Police from it's inception through to membership of (and adoption of the badge of) the United Arab Emirates.

As always I welcome any comments - particulary if you think I'm wrong, either in chronology, or otherwise.

Thanks for looking

Graham

Very nice Graham. I'm very much into "sets". I think if you are going to collect its much more satisfying to have a group of items from a particular organisation rather than a single badge. Obviously, beggers can't be choosers and you have to grab what you can.

Dave.

Hi.those are all nice badges. But I am sorry to say it's not complete.

The first AD police badge is shown in the first attached picture. It was replaced by the Antelope badge.

The AD police then became part of the the Federal Police with the large falcon/dhow badge followed by the circular falcon/stars badge.

The badge with the falcon standing on two crossed daggers is AD Security

Thank you Eddie, much appreciated as always. I've attached a photo of a friend's collection which is online <http://adintpolcol.tripod.com/UnitedAE.jpg>, as I'll share this information with him I hope he doesn't mind. I've annotated it as per your comments, have I got the chronology right?

When you say "AD Security" in what context does "Security" mean?

Many thanks again

Graham

That's a very good question, and I am not sure myself, It may well be that they deal with counter-terrorism and similar issues, but that's a guess.

I am delighted to see a better image of the quoit like first pattern badge. I've never seen one in the flesh or even a decent picture. That's nice selection of the other Emirate's badges too.

Eddie

PS, I wonder if you could ask your friend for a better picture of that badge - I can't quite read the inscription!

Thank you again Eddie, and I'll drop him a line to ask him.

All the best

Graham
