Default Red Cross Badge.

Can anyone please identify which service this badge belonged to.I have had the badge for quite some time now and always thought it could be RN Thanx for any help. cheers Andy.

Hi Andy,
These red cross badges were used by most commonwealth medical corps and red cross units. I have seen them in various colours, sizes and construction. The larger version in your third picture is the usual size.

I have not seen many of the smaller sizes. The only photograph I have seen of this size and constuction been worn was that of a group of OR's in the Volunteer Medical Staff Corps c.1900. If the bullion of this badge is in silver wire then this could be a VMSC badge.
