Default repatriation hospital badges

hi all
thought i would show these 2 badges.
they were worn between 1947-53 by army and civil nurses working at the concord (nsw) and Heidelberg (vict) hospitals.
i love these sort of badges. beautifully made.
if anyone has any other items related to concord or in particular Heidelberg repatriation hospital i would be interested to hear from you.

Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital commenced on 13 March 1941, and was known as the 115th Heidelberg Military Hospital. The hospital was initially operated by the Army, and on site between 1942 and 1947 was 6th RAAF Hospital.
The current site/hospital has a patient capacity of around 300, however at its height of occupancy in the late years of the war, there were around 3000 patients. One of the more auspicious being Edward Ted Kenna, who was notified of his award of the VC while recovering from his wounds.

On 19 May 1947, the hospital was handed over from the army to the Repatriation Commission and became known as Repatriation General Hospital Heidelberg. The Repatriation Commission (Department of Veterans' Affairs) operated the hospital until 31 December 1994. In the decade leading up to transfer of the hospital to the state hospital system the name was modified to its current name - Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

Default Repatriation hospital badges

Are your badges related to this cloth badge: it has been in my unidentified Australian box for years.

Stephen.

hi Stephen
im not 100% sure but I think the answer is yes and these patches were issued/worn through the 70s.

Default WW1 variety

Similar in size to the "enlisted in 1918" lapel badge.

hi kingsley
thats a lovely item but why do you think its circa ww1?
to me the design looks similar to the 1970s patch other than the shape
any chance we can see the back? or who made it?

Default Repat Hospital Badge

Sorry for the delay in replying.
The Repat lapel badge is blank on the back but has two lugs. It looks more like WW1 to me rather than the 1970s.
