Default Helmet Plate layout

hi
Am hoping that some one in the forum can help ?
I have a West Riding helmet plate which is different to the other plates I have . All of the other plates have , have a brass raised centre plate with one lug on the back , 3 lugs on the legend plate . However this one has 4 lugs for the legend plate, with no centre brass plate . It looks like the centre motif is secured directly to the plate with 3 pins which are bent over
The gilt on the main plate and legend plate is fire gilt so it looks genuine, I was wondering if this was an early copy or a late backing plate . The plate has a number 3 in the centre of the back .
I would add the 3 centre holes don't match the centre piece which has 2 pins
which suggests the plate was from another badge .

My questions are
1 is it original ??
2, Did the centre have any padding to the back given it has no round, raised, brass centre plate

Can anyone help please and put me out of my misery

All the best
Steve
