Default OSD uniform

Could anyone tell me when the tunic with twisted cords on the shoulders and stand-up collars was worn ???
I presume from 1902 ???
And certainly given up before 1914.
thanks

I dont know officially but from photos I have seen I would say 1900'ish to c. 1911.

I am sure someone has the Regs to show it exactly.

regards

The first picture below is of Colonel G.A. Wilson V.D. of the 2nd.V.B. Kings Liverpools ,later 6th T.F. Bn. and is from the History of the 2/6th Bn. published in 1920 but I don't think that helps answer the question about when this style of tunic ceased to be worn because I have post cards of Col.Wilson wearing this style of tunic around 1906.

The inscription on the second photograph is dated 1915.

I have to say its my favourite style of OSD jacket, with high collar and cuff rankings. Looks very smart.

Poor picture, but 4th VB Manchester Regiment shown below.

Julian

with regard to the change of collars; the change from a 'turn down (Prussian) collar" to a " step collar" was authorized under authority 55/Gen. No./303 and communicated via the Dress Regulation amendments published on Aug 1st 1913.

Scans below of the two types although the amended jacket scan is not reproduced well in the re-print of the 1913 amendments that I have.
