Default Possible Indian or Scottish badge

I bought the attached badge from a market trader selling house-clearance type stuff. He thought it was Scottish which is fair enough but I can't help thinking maybe Indian. That said the motto is for the Keith Clan but the heraldic device is completely different. Strangely the N is the wrong way round which would point to Indian manufacture if not use. I have googled "Veritas Vincit" to death and not seen another badge. I'm inclined to think that if it was a fake it would be all over Ebay and the net. The fat pin would suit Indian headgear as well. I would be grateful if anyone could help.

Scottish badges tend to have the motto on a circular strap.

All I can come up with is that Veritas Vincit is the motto of Czechoslovakia. But you probably found that in your search.

Don't think it's Czech.
