6th Armoured Division post-war
A nice shot of the sign of 6th Armoured Division as carried by the division re-formed in Germany in the early 1950s.
Can someone knowledgeable identify the tank and explain the uprights on each side of the turret? Jon |

Hi Jon
The "X" over the "75" looks a bit like an Artillery marking? Perhaps its a an OP tank, and the pillars could be for a camo net? Cromwell or Centaur? Rob |

A 'Cromwell' used by a Battery Commander, the uprights could be cam net mushrooms used to hold the cam net off the turret to aid observation.
Or some sort of Radio Ariel that I have not seen before. Marc |

Thank you Gents. I thought the poles might have been for a cam net.
