Default MGC Brass button officers

Can anyone shed a light on whether this could be WW1 and original or should I stay clear ? many thanks , Warren.

I am puzzled as to why you think it is, in any way, whatsoever, spurious?

One point to appreciate is that this design of button was used by the Canadian Machine Gun Corps between about 1929 and 1936, by the Canadian Prince Rupert Regiment between 1942 and 1946 (and by some other Canadian units as well I believe) long after the British Machine Gun Corps was disbanded in 1922.

Unfortunately I do not know whether these Canadian units used buttons with British or Canadian backmarks.

Thanks Roger I wasn't sure if these would be solely WW1 hence my query.

Sorry Frank I only collect ww1 and wanted to be sure that they weren't used beyond that date. Apologies if I've posted in the wrong thread.

Well, I do think it certainly pays to be very careful these days!
