The red? background to the flaming bomb collar insignia suggests the uniform is not one worn by New Zealand troops.
Possibly Belgium/French?
During WW1 a letter "A" in a flaming bomb was used by the French Motor Car Section.

Hello voltigeur,

Je pense que le Major P de B Brandon porte le cap badge du 6th reinforcement Battalion....Que fait-il dans le Pay corps??

Captain H D Dansay porte bien le très rare Maori Pioneers cap badge. J'en ai un trouvé à Arras....

Have a nice day in Québec!

Jean-Paul

Just out of interest, Major Percy de Bathe Brandon’s military service spanned over 25 years and 3 wars. Major de Bathe Brandon OBE served with the Heretaunga Mounted Rifles prior to his service in the South African war. On the 13th February 1907 he was promoted to acting Lieutenant and there weeks later to Lieutenant. On the 17th July 1908 he transferred from the HMR to Staff HQ of the 2nd Wellington Mounted Rifles, promoted to Captain 1st December 1909.
After less than a year on the Active List he transferred to the 6th Manawatu Mounted Rifles on the 5th September 1911, and embarked with them at the beginning of WW1.
After Gallipoli he was transferred to the NZAPC with the rank of Major, and at the end of the war he was absorbed back into the 6th Manawatu Mounted Rifles.
During WW2 he served as Captain with the Wellington home guard.
