I haven't seen any worn in my photos researches I sent you.
Yes there are - very seldom seen - but I am not publicising here for reasons stated and highlighted by Gerry's post.
Hoping you understand ... still completing research.
I was hoping Michael (Nemo) would give more pointers regarding theatre variants (posts 22 and 23) - without attributed items it is difficult to say what was worn where and when.

Lovely display - thank you elwe23 and Fez
It shows how difficult it is to be specific about dates and place of issue for different variants. Personally, I am not sure what the red on blue versions are - pretty sure not WW2 Beach Cdo

Hoping this helps - warry to say too much given the current attention of fakers.
I am sorry I do not like the reverse of the one illustrated which resembles N F recent production

Hi Mike ,I one of the ones that believe these were worn war time Ha ing seem pics of them on uniform pre 1945 the problem comes when the person is wearing the standard Royal navy title but with the white on black commando title stitched immediately below? Hard to tell hf it's one piece or two

Agree Nemo. Fortunately I have a one-piece wartime one - heavily mothed. I think private purchase as came with KC RN officer cap badge. Definitely true that two piece can be configured to look like on-piece as you say ...

Nemo could you post a photo of what you are referring to (photo of pre 1945 uniform) ?
Cheers

Mike did you find any photo of Royal Navy printed title worn ?
Same for RN Commando printed title. I only found embroidered ones in photo, but as always difficult for sure to say if it not printed with old photos.

Struggling with time as so much to do but here is one - pretty sure printed. ROYAL NAVY should be easier to find ... in theory ...

Surprisingly difficult to find printed versions in wear - although noted on examples of battledress. These ROYAL NAVY and RN COMMANDO examples look possibly printed to me - but open to comments - my eyes are not as good as they were ... Sorry that one image is not oriented correctly.

IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SEE MORE DEFINITIVE EXAMPLES OF PRINTED 'ROYAL NAVY' AND 'R.N. COMMANDO' TITLES IN WEAR

Thanks Mike B for the good exemples photos.
Looks like your first photo "Peter - CPO RHG McKinlay" is the patch model of the second column at the top from Fez's collection.

The second portrait photo is hard to tell for sure.

Hi all, reopening the subject after a few months of research on Royal Navy titles.

Here are different photos with what seems to be printed exemple worn during WW2, specially before D-Day and during D-Day (FOB Units), some during the rhine battle in march 1945, and one know with Mountbatten in Burma inspecting the troops (would like to know the date of the photo if anyone has that ?).

Let me know your thoughts.

PS: sorry the forum is compressing the photos so difficult to zoom in and have the full details and quality I have originally. That would be a good upgrade for this forum as badge collectors doing researches, having better quality upload over here.
