Default RF collar as FSC

There has been some confusion about FSC badges so I thought members would like to see this. RF cap badges in use. Full size badges on the peaked ones and what appears to be the shorter collar badge as the FSC.

The collar were briefly sealed as the cap badge (see my Victorian Inf album for details) and clearly continued in use on the FSC in some cases.

Nice little picture, Alan. Thanks for posting. Just a shame any size difference there isn't more apparent.

For comparison, here is a similar pic, though I suspect this badge worn in the FSC is not a collar:

That is a full sized badge but the difference is that sitter is a 1914/15 recruit in Kitchener's Blues and matching cap. I am surprised he has a badge at all!

The VB and early TF were still wearing side caps pre WW1,
