ANYWAY lovely album, like the 39th Royal Fusiliers post card - "Samuel P. Block" discharge papers are online for him - sent to Egypt late 1918 , only entitled to a British War Medal. this guy Block was born in Vilna Russia Posted for duty from Boston Massachusetts. NOK - Father : Israel Block living at 325 Sheffield Street Brooklyn New York. Samuel Philip Block was 20 in 1918 Any of your Northumberland Fusiliers cards have names on the back?

Those Egyptians must have made a fortune photographing soldiers in front of the pyramids, think they got most of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force - wonder if all the negatives have survived?
Here is one I have of two South African Officers, excactly the same spot- large photo not a postcard hence wider shot - mounted column in the background? the chap on the left is 2/Lt Armand Henry John Bliss South African Infantry sadly didn't make it - KIA in Egypt

Here's another photo of 2/Lt Bliss, showing the bambi in a porthole badge or whatever they call it.
Anyone know what finish/metal this is 'cause it doesn't look OSD to me? I would like to get an identical matching WW1 vintage badge to keep with these photos at some point.
