Default SEAC South Burma District H.Q.

This badge looks very unlike the SEAC South Burma District H.Q. formation sign illustrated on the 12th Army formation sign poster that appeared elsewhere on the forum as it has no black on the wings.

It also appears to be quite crudely made.

Apologies for the small size of the photographs and for lifting them from the net.

I have two examples - one printed and the other embroidered on cotton - both have a black outer wings and red beak and legs. I would accept the printed one you illustrated as a gift, but wouldn't pay for it. Mike

Mike,

It definitely looks a little unfinished. I am unlikely to acquire the patch even to offer it as a gift.

Many thanks,

Simon.

Very different to the example that I posted. Thank you for posting them.

Here is a matched pair from my collection, embroidered on wool. The note on the back is interesting as these signs and several other scarce ones were obtained from an American officer who served in the CBI theater. All have these notes indicating were he got them and the dates. Garth
