No 49 Squadron and Britians first nuclear tests

No 49 Squadron was reformed in May 1956 from personnel of 'C' Flight No 138 Squadron. They were equipped with Valiant B1 aircraft and tasked with carrying out a series of nuclear tests on Christmas Island in the Pacific. Here is a patch from that period.
