1942 RAF Eagle Sqn Badge
I know how rare an original of this design is, but is this the most expensive copy of a badge going? Wonder if it will sell?

RAF Eagle Squardon "Replica"
With all due respect, and in my personal opinion. This example personifies why I personally have permanently ceased any acquisitions in badge collecting, viewing it singularly as a spectator sport. It has become a modern analogy to Greek tragicomedy, without a happy ending. Whoever is offering this badge is not just “smoking something”, they are “main-lining”. It is truly unfortunate that e-Bay has in recent times devolved to these depths.

A sad state of affairs. I have one of these badges, offered and bought as a copy a few years ago for 30 $US. Now some unscrupulous seller is trying to pass one off on unwary buyers for a fortune. It's a shame. I'll send a comment to the seller, but I doubt it'll have much effect.
Regards, Donovan

He does state "Copy which means Replica" has he put the decimal point in the wrong place? £6.70 ??? Am giving him the benefit of the doubt! No one will be daft enough to buy it with that statement??? Or then again watch this space!!

Any chance the hallmarks are fake and seller can be prosecuted?

....the auction has ended, but this is not the end......
The seller has now added that he notes it has been listed as a "copy" in error(!) and now it has been relisted - stating it is original and now with an elevated starting price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW2-RAF-EA...8AAOSwc-tY1FNz |
