Your budgie dates 1969-74 and was designed by Jeanne Grut it was produced for about 20 years starting in 1964.

Well, I think it's original, I asked for a link to another one for sale and got this.

Have you read the story of the collection it came in? The seller has to be a plain out and out liar for it to have been produced in the last two or three years. And I spoke to him personally and he was a joe public not a collector. In addition the fact that the badge below was in the collection, a collection I paid £250 for tells me a lot, the seller didn't know the value of what he was selling (and I didn't know that badge was in the collection by the way)

Everything in the collection is original in my opinion. Yes, a doubt has been raised about the royal dragoons badge with the mis-struck scroll, but just for the fact that it is mis-struck, which does not mean it's a copy to me as I do not subscribe to the theory that defective/mis-struck/ misaligned sliders and lugs mean a badge is a copy, in-fact all things being equal I hold the opposite to be true, a badge with mis-aligned lugs is a small point in favour of originality.

Hi Mike

Thanks for putting the frame and story up, the provenance sounds good and the other badges look great.

I'm making some enquiries at this end and will get back to you in a day or so.

I had a look at the badge in your link and it has the Tittaft name in the normal place, not down at the bottom on a small space.

I still cant put photos up but will email you a couple of photos of mine for you info. Also I could be interested in the 16th Lancers badge if its available.

Regards

Phil.
