Grenade Badge for ID Please
Hello All
I have just received the badge pictured below but am at a bit of a loss as to what it is. It came as part of a small lot and was not individually pictured so I was not 100% sure what I was getting. I thought it might be a Royal Marine Artillery Officer's KSD Cap badge from WWI but the flames are slightly different plus it is a lot smaller. I initially thought it was going to be gilding metal but when I received it I found that it looks like it is gilded silver as it has a light gold sheen plus it is hallmarked on the flames. From the hallmarks it was made by Fattorini & Sons in 1903. The badge is 45mm tall by 21mm wide. It originally had 2 lugs (N/S) but 1 is now missing. Does anyone have an idea whether this is a cap or collar badge and any idea what regiment it belonged to. If it does not fit in with my collecting interests then I may be moving it on. Many thanks in advance Paddy |

Seen same grenade with same hallmarks as worn by CSARVC (Central South African Railway Volunteer Corps) but those had the title below.
So either this one's title has been removed or it may have been worn by one of the other Transvaal Volunteer units post Boer War and pre 1910 |
