Default World War Two Special Forces

Hi - After a forum recomendation I've been going through Allied Special Forces Insignia 1939 - 1948. My area of collecting so far covers only British metal cap badges 1939 to 1945.
Obviously I need to thoroughly absorb the information but I do have a couple of questions. Would the Special Boat Service be considered a British army unit? rather than naval or Royal Marine.
Would the Chindits also be considered a British unit under British control as obviously members of other allied forces were involved?
Thanks in advance.

The Special Boat Service in WW2 was a army unit and not Royal Marine.
The Chindits were a British unit under the British control with members of other allied forces in it

There is now a very convincing repro of those Chindit badges doing the rounds with the blue backing. Sold as late war, when the troops came home. If I was buying one I`d buy one with the black backing which has changed colour due to the tropical climate. All the worn originals Ive seen always go black.
