Default WELCH REGIMENT CLOTH SHOULDER TITLE

Does anyone know why this cloth shoulder title is white on black instead of the usual white on red

I believe that this was adopted in 1945 in Italy by 1 Welch when serving in 61 Inf Bde, 6 Armd Div (presumably prompted by the title worn earlier in the same Division by 3 Welsh Guards).

Thanks for that Mike.

That ties in with it coming from a BD blouse from an old soldier who served in Italy.
