Pith helmet flash?

Waiting for this to arrive, but uncertain as to the significance of the flash and I hoped someone here could help? A friend suggested it was similar to that used by 21st battalion of the Middlesex regiment in WWI, though this pattern of sun helmet was first used in the thirties. The closest I could think of was RAOC, but I expect that is wrong.

It arrived today, so a better pic of the flash. I also bought a Slouch hat from the same seller and they do not normally sell military items and it is possible that they were from the same person and it had a name from an officer who served with the RAOC, so maybe my first thought was correct.

Yes, I think you are right, RAOC, although it's not in the book I thought it was in. Fairly sure I saw the flash for sale sometime ago with one of the better dealers, labelled as RAOC
