Thanks Roy, glad that you've enjoyed them. At a latter stage I'll organise them better to show the back of the badges for reference.

Hello Vincent,
Thanks for showing your Malta albums, very nice indeed. I note you don't display a Royal Malta Militia with flat top Imperial Crown. Are you looking for one? Cheers, Tinto |

Hi Tinto,
Well noticed. I do have one, I just haven't got an image of it as I've just replaced it. I will be adding it shortly, plus a few more. Thank you and regards, Vincent |

Very impressive. Forgive my ignorance, but what, if any, is the significance of the red/white circular background in some and white/red in other badges?

Quote:
The Maltese flag is White/Red and when these badges were produced for the Royal Malta Regiment Officer's Cap Badge and the brass badge for the Royal Malta Militia and the King's Own Malta Regiment of Militia Other Ranks, they were issued wrongly having the colours inverted. Having said this, the King's Own Malta Regiment of Militia Officer's cap badges, being enamelled or OSD where issued correctly. When the King's Own Malta Regiment of Militia was renamed the King's Own Malta Regiment in 1931, the issue was resolved. Vincent |

This case is also evident in the brass Royal Malta Artillery puggri badges both Tudor Crown and King's Crown (Lungs and Sliders) where the colours have been inverted. But the Officer's enamel cap badge was issued correctly.

Thank you all for your comments. I now added the buttons.
I apologise in advance for the lack of sharpness and details in the images. This is a work in progress and will be editing the photos in the future with improved images. Regards, Vincent. |
