Firstly my apologies for resurrecting an old thread, I am after a Leeds Pals cap badge, using the historic threads on the forum to get a good grip on the obvious signs of a "bad un".

I've watched our favourite auction site and can't see anything recently that ticks the boxes, I started trawling the Militaria dealer sites, all of which I've brought badges off in the past and am more than happy with everything I've purchased and fully understand you can return if unhappy with anything. This isn't meant to criticise the sellers, purely for education on my behalf as I thought I had a good handle on what to look for and wouldn't have given a second thought to buying off any of the sites.

Maybe I've been too obsessive about what constitutes a good Leeds Pals badge.

I've added the links to the items below:

link 1

Link 2

link 3

They may all be good, but if I've read the forum correctly I think only one of the badges is correct. I don't want to prejudice anyone's thought processes by revealing which one I think is right but I would be interested in other more experienced /knowledgeable members thoughts.

Steve

Steve,

Your top 2 links don’t work for me. The 3rd link to British Empire Militaria is a fake.

This thread and post #4 should be more helpful http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ght=leeds+pals should be more useful.

In a nutshell, avoid leaning budgies, look for finer dots on shield and the lambs right (viewers right) horn should not protrude above its neck.

Cheers,
Luke

P.S. I can see the middle link is to Minden. They do have a genuine badge for sale there but £140 is OTT in my opinion.

Hi Luke
The only genuine one is Link 2 the one on Minden site the other links 1-3 , they do come up on eBay but not often for good ones, I guess it’s play the waiting game or spend a bit more from the good dealers, a choice I guess we all make sometimes.

Someone got a bargain there.

In the past 18 months I’ve seen Bosley’s sell 2 on their BuyWyze site - both were listed at £75 and sold very quickly within just a few hours.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/...p2047675.l2565

If any forum member is bidding on this badge at £51 please reconsider as original Leeds Pals badges were lugged.

Is the seller not a forum member too?
