Royal Artillery Cap Maj.Gen. J Hamilton-Jones CBE
A nice quality cap from a Major-General J Hamilton-Jones CBE that dates back to March 1966 when he was a Major.

Very interesting, thank you. Herbert Johnson also made caps for South African senior officers. For interest have attached images for the cap of General Fraser who was Chief of the South African army and given to me by him, personally. It came in the same type box!

Herbert Johnson certainly made ( and perhaps still make ) quality hats.
Pictured are No.1 dress and Service Dress caps to the Kings Regiment by that maker. P.B.

At that time, I believe he was Battery Commander of 11 (Sphinx) Battery, 34 Regiment RA at Hilden, Germany.

They were/are quality hatters, I have a few by them including a pair for the Queens Royal (West Surrey) Regiment formerly the property of Major C B Rodger 1st Bn complete with the box and a receipt for work carried out to repair the SD cap.
