214th and 281 Field Company RE, 78th Div.
If I am not mistaken, this should be the combination insignia of the 214th Field Company RE (pair, on KD), and 281st Field Company RE (on airtex), both serving with the 78th Division? Thank you in advance for your help, gents!

I'll check when I'm back at home base, but I am sure you are right - excellent items. Mike

Hello Mike, I have just received a Ml II Helmet with the sam tactical formation sign, 48 on a cobalt blue square, therefore possibly the same 281st Filed Park Company, RE?

If it is not linked with an Infantry Division's sign, the white 48 on cobalt blue could be the Field Park Company RE in any British (and maybe Canadian) Infantry Division of the 1943-45 period. Mike

Correct, Mike: Field Park Company in any Infantry Division, British and Canadian: what about the Indian Divisions though? Did the have another system of tactical recognition signs?
