Default Gallipoli Lancashire Fusiliers

Came across this article on the BBC news site. Thought it may be of interest. Gallipoli: Six tales of valour and a missing Victoria Cross

Tony,

Don't know if you saw the piece on Granada Reports tonight on the exhibition, it was most interesting , just a pity that in the introduction the regiment was called the "Royal" Lancashire Fusiliers.

Peter, I didn't catch the Granada news, will take a look at their website and see if they have a link.
Thanks Tony.

Tony,
Have you actually been to their museum, I had not until last year, it is now in the centre of Bury, I had visited their old museum which was still being used by the Army.
It grieves me to say this, but, I was rather disappointed with the new museum.
Regards Frank

Frank, no I haven't been to their museum I'm afraid.
I worked in Manchester for a couple of weeks last year, as you enter the city from the East Lancs Road there is an impressive statue in bronze of a Lancashire Fusilier, also a memorial to the regiment opposite a large college, I would have taken a closer look but didn't get the chance.
Regards Tony.

Hello Tony,
Well, it is worth you seeing, but, I certainly won't be rushing back there, I was listening to this on radio four yesterday whilst driving home, certainly quite something to have all six Victoria Cross's together though.
Regards Frank
