Default Unusual RFC Cap Badge

I would welcome opinions on this solid construction RFC Cap Badge, as all others I have seen have been of the cut out type. I attach some pics.
Thanks,
Peter

Artificially aged fake of a non-existent badge I'm afraid.

I also think it is an aged fake? I have yet to see a non-voided version of the RFC badge I would be happy to have in my own collection. Although the majority of good RFC voided badges are lugged, had there been an "Ecomony" version (I don't beleive there was) then it would almost certainly of had a slider fitting!

Very poor quality so could it perhaps be of Middle East provenance to make up for difficulties with supply chain. Rather like sand cast badges in India. Would not surprise me if Canal Zone (Suez) had to do that sort of thing.

Thanks Gtb,PL,Andy and Toby,
I have never seen one of these before as stated. I think that it is one to give a definite miss.
Thanks very much for your advice.

I suspect it's repro and made by someone with an old press and die but not the skills to fret it out.

The blue staining etc is typical of a badge that has been buried to give it an aged look. This might be becasue it has been stored in a damp cellar for 80 years but given the fact that the unfretted ones are suspect, wold make me suspicious that it has been artificially aged.

Unvoided RFC cap badges are suspicious period. If someone has a period picture of one been worn I would love to see it.
