But a myth that can work. My late father, who served in Burma, bought back his Khukri and gave it to me, along with other items in the late 1950's. He told me that story and only on one occasion did I remove it from its sheath and just had to nick a finger, as he had told me. As this proved to be painful it was not until I was in my late teens that I drew it out again. By then I thought I knew better, but probably did not!. I still have it and has only been removed from its sheath on a couple of occasions in all those years.

yep , it worked for a child , but it is never the less , a myth .
