ROYAL NAVAL DIVISION PPC
Great picture - many thanks for showing. But are you sure that it's actually of men of the RND? It looks earlier to me - possibly somewhere around 1890-1900?

Pete.
Thought it maybe due to the gent on the right in the dark uniform, couldn't find anything definite on the net re the white uniforms, happy to be proved wrong as others have a lot more knowledge re this subject. Was gonna list it as RND on E:Bay (not my field of interest) so i'll just go with Navy. Still nice image though. Thanks Jonathan. |

The PC appears to me to be a photo of a Gunnery Training class at one of the Boys Training establishments - ie: HMS Impregnable, HMS St Vincent, around the turn of the 19th/20th C, the sailors look pretty young to me,

Thanks for all the replies.
As said thought it would be of interest to fellow members. Have already put it on E:Bay listed as Royal Navy, it'll find it's own level. Ta Jonathan |
