5th RIDG Badge
A KC "SILVER" marked badge, lugs approx 10mm long. Opinions on this one please.

Two things strke me, which are unfortunately contradictory.
Firstly the thick long silver loops are typical of original examples. BUT Secondly, one much discussed ebay seller of fake silver badges marks the rear, "SILVER". The use of the word SILVER on military badges is not normal, having either Hallmarks or "STIRLING" usually. In the absence of evidence to the contrary I would at this stage consider iot a genuine badge BUT we need to see if other SILVER marked badges begin to appear with similar loops. regards

Silver Marked Badge
Thanks Simon. It was the fact that some copies are now being marked "SILVER" that worried me. How does the mark on this one compare to known copies ?
