Over the years some things that have been "improved" have just been a pain in the arse. Maybe I am too set in my ways.

I wholeheartedly agree there. I've seen numerous excellent sites destroyed by updating the software.

Sad thing is it will happen to us eventually.

And there is a massive move to redesign the internet for mobile phones. (anyone use the toolstation website? almost unusable on a desktop now.)

Works fine for me using Windows 7 and Chrome browser. Both clicking on thumbnails and clicking direct links I actually find it's opening images faster than before!

It also works perfectly with Win 7 and Firefox browser.
The "New Posts" and "Today's Posts" are also working fine.

On the same machine:
windows 7, IE 11.09.600.18638 - does not display images when clicked, (black window); it does work when I put them in a new tab.
windows 7, firefox: fine

The thank you button is not there.

Anyone having problems with IE 11 want to try adding the site to compatibility mode in the browser settings and see what happens?

There is a little 'gear' icon top right, click that and look for 'compatibility view settings' - then copy and paste 'www.britishbadgeforum.com' into the list.

explained here with pictures:

[best option of course is to switch to using chrome ]

The compatibility view settings trick has worked for me. I'm back to cycling through the images before they display but I'm used to that as I've had to do that from day 1!

I've also noticed that some posts I've read don't show up as being read. I also couldn't access photos posted unless I clicked on the Accept Cookies button - otherwise I got a blank screen. As someone else asked recently, what's happened to the Thanks button?

'Thanks' button not compatible with this version of the forum software unfortunately. Will re-install if things change

Hi Gents,

Two brief points:

I have noticed that some threads are not showing up under their appropriate heading. This topic for example. It was listed to the right under the mail page (screen shot 1) but no where to been seen in the subject (screen shot 2)..?

I also really miss the opportunity to thank people. Didn't realize how often I do that until I couldn't.

Cheerio,

Roy

Hi Roy, I think it is displaying the way it always has, it's just that there is a separate sub-forum in the 'off topic' to house the forum operation threads.

This is where it is:

Thanks for that Mike, makes sense.

I would have clicked the 'thank you' button if I could...

Cheerio,

Roy

I'm using my i Phone 5 and I can't post images on the open forum threads/posts, but I can within my album..?

Also, now I can't conduct searches, unless I use the "advanced" search option.

Does anyone else encounter such issues when using a phone?

Best,

Marcus

I have only ever been able to use 'advanced search', on no occasion on any device has the 'quick search' function worked for me.
