Not particularly so, they've been listed on eBay for the last week.

It does raise the question as to how these maker marked badges are on the open market. The MOD has clearly not sold off surplus stock.

They aren't marked Alan, the only way to tell they are genuine is that they are in the Firmin bag. The word is that stamping the slider is considered to be advertising by the MOD. No advertising allowed.
These are from the original batch that were made, so I haven't a clue how many a production run is. Ive looked at the ones that Mac, Myself and Mr Heys have had. All the same production date.
The problem with not stamping them is that its hard to tell the good and the bad. I will cite the Light Division band badge, white metal with a blank brass slider, out of the bag it looks like a pile of s..t. Youd say it was a modern copy.

The bag's marked and as you say it's an MOD production run so how come these are not in the QM's stores or at Donnington?

All that i can think of is a production overrun. That if the MOD ordered and paid for 500,Firmins produced 600 and are selling the surplus. These are from the 1st production run ,so it would be larger.
Im presuming that this applies to the beret badges as well but as the initial issue were supplied by another company then the run would be less.
