Hello Kevin
The naval button is for the Orient Line. I stand to be corrected but I don't think the other button is anything to do with the Warwickshire Regiment, more likely a livery button. The Royal Warwickshire antelope is usually depicted with chain and collar. Your button appears to depict a stag rather than an antelope and does not appear to have the collar around the neck. I may well be wrong and it could be something like a mess waiter's button but I have only seen one of those before and that was different yet again. Roger |

Hi Roger and Kevin,
Below is the button I have for the Mess Waiters of the Royal Warwickshire Regt and maybe even the 6th Regt of Foot. (I am not sure about the 6th part). As Roger says, the design is of an Antelope with a crown and chains and it is standing on 'Ground/Grass' rather than on a torse as per Kevin's button. I think Roger is correct, in that Kevin's button is probably a Livery button. Cheers Ian |

I think you will find that the naval button is an RN blazer button.

Hi Pete,
I think Roger was talking about the other button - next to stag on a torse. The button has a KC above a strap/belt containing a laurel wreath, with an anchor & rope in the Centre, which is a button for the Orient Line. The Naval button you mention was discussed in this earlier thread: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=61031 I only know this as I had seen both threads - otherwise it would have been confusing. Cheers Ian |
