The 6th Inniskilling Dragoons.
1855-1922?

The VI Inniskilling Dragoons.
1929?

Hello Regis

Yes, both your buttons are for the 6th Inniskilling Dragoons, the pair dating from 1855 to 1929.

The button on the left, the one with the '6' is believed to be the earlier pattern with that showing 'VI' being the later pattern. The 1900 Dress Regulations specified the use of 'VI', not '6', but other than that I have not seen any positive finish/start dates for these two buttons and I have always wondered if the difference is simply down to the usual manufacturer's variant or error!

Perhaps a member who is more knowledgeable about Irish Regiments will have some more information.
