unusual whitemetal/plated badges
hi guys
just got these today. what are your thoughts? whitemetal or plated? and why? band maybe? cheers BC |

If they're white metal wouldn't the lugs be brass coloured? My bet is on plated.
As for why, I don't pretend to know anything about Australian badges, but British badges are plated for various reasons, attachment to Armoured unit, walking out/blues dress, bandsmen, Regimental Police etc. Rgds, Thomas. |

Had a think about what you said and went and looked at my other Aussie white metal badges and most of them have white metal lugs. Bc |

I have an unusual plated Melbourne University Regiment badge in my collection. Advice from the very reputable Victorian dealer I purchased it from was that it was for a small section of armoured cars that was allotted to the regiment for a short time. Photos attached for info. Dennis |
