Default unknown medal

Can anyone identify this? 33mm in diameter with a pale or faded ribbon with pink verticals on a white background. It's named and has a low number on the flat reverse. Awarded or to a British soldier WWII or post-war. Is it military? Country of origin?

Thanks for your thoughts.

In the palmy days of my youth, my aging brain insists, one of the Canadian military medla collectors groups issued a medal very like this to its members. I may have briefly owned one. Try searching for medals to the "Military Collectors Club of Canada".

Thanks for the sleuthing guys.
This is really embarrassing as I'm actually a (relatively) new member of the MCCoC. I guess I haven't paid much attention to the symbol that appears on our publications. In my defence, it does look a bit different on our current Journals. This medallion will date to the early 60's and I don't believe are issued anymore.
