Help With Tartan Identification
A few years ago I was given some pieces of tartan. They have always been at the back of my mind and I now wish to makes a small display of regimental tartans. I thought this would be rather straightforward! I now realise that there are subtle differences.
I would like some help identifying some of the tartans, especially those that are cut on a diagonal as opposed to square. The first looks like Leslie (KOSB) to me but the second is similar with a thick white diagonal. The third is similar to the second but is cut square (MacKenzie?). However this does not look like the one in Leigh Kitchen’s post in http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ghlight=tartan which I have similar – fourth picture (HLI) and fifth (which may just be older). The sixth I think is Douglas (Cameronians) and the seventh Forbes (Liverpool Scottish)-thinner white lines. I do not know about the eighth (which is different from sixth) or ninth (pattern of ninth shown clearer on tenth). The eleventh, I think is Government cut to A&SH. Thank you in advance. Chris |

Hi
Some of the tartan patches would of been worn orientated to a diamond for wear on a Pagri as an example. Paul Is 8 yellow or white vertical/horizontal lines? |
