Default 2 RN bullion insignia

Hi as I know nothing of RN insignia could someone tell me what these are, how old and a fair price to ask on the forum as they were in a collection of badges I bought but are not of interest to me.The back of the cap badge is duller and browner than it appears in the photo. Thanks Roger

The second one is a Petty Officer's cap badge with a King's Crown, so pre-1953; the first looks like something to do with torpedoes. I'm trying to find the link that had WW2 RN ratings and trade badges on this forum, which might explain it better. I just looked in Talbot-Booth's 'Rank and Badges in the Navy, Army, RAF and Auxilliaries', dated 1943 and it's not shown there. Judging from the others shown it's probably something like 'Master Torpedoman'. David

Roger, I just checked on the naval history website and found something similar: Wireman Minesweeper, although nothing quite like your badge. Here's the link:

Hi there, Hopefully this might be of interest? Taken from the 1937 Admiralty Manual of Seamanship Volume 1. Does not show your actual badge, but does show that your badge was not in use in 1937 (in fact there are no branch badges for minesweeping at all in the manual) and as there were minesweeping branch badges after the war (of a sea mine design) then I would feel it fair to conclude that your badge is of WW2 vintage?

hope it is of some help.

Regards Tony.
