Default Two DZ Patches

I attach scans of two DZ size patches I've just acquired. Can anyone tell me what units wore them please?

As far as I know they are manufacturers mistakes.

Thanks Marc. Do you know what they were intended to be? I assume the first one may have been for the RAMC but they seem to have inserted red for cherry in the top section.
I had thought that the second one may have been RAOC, but I see this was also a mistake by the manufacturer.

Possibly RAMC and Household Cavalry.

For the first one have a look at this thread
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=11022

Another possibility for both is that they were made for a film or TV show

Was always told it was a manufacturer error for RAMC and was told 2nd was RAOC.

The second is the colours of the RAOC Ordnance Parachute Ordnance Field Parks & Companies, Patches came in various shades of colour Red/Blue/Red but blue should be a darker shade.

Here is a colour picture of a 16 Parachute Heavy Drop Company RAOC L/Cpl

Thanks for the photo, but I note they're wearing Dennison smocks. The woven nylon merrow edged DZ flashes came in after the First pattern DPM para smock was issued so it's safe to assume the the DZ flashes are made of cotton or felt, usually 2 red strips and 1 dark blue or black (I forget)

RAOC colours were Red & Dark Blue so its safe to say its blue!

Picture was to confirm colours not really to say merrow edged DZ Flash was ever worn and dates far earlier as its a Mk1 Land Rover!

I have seen several examples of RAOC DZ Flashes but have been unable to confirm its earliest use.

16 Parachute Heavy Drop Company disbanded in 1974 and as far as I know were never issued with DPM Para Smocks

16 Parachute Ordnance Field Park RAOC continued as part of 16 Para Brigade were issued DPM Smocks in I think 1977 and later became 82 (Airborne) Company RAOC within 5 Airborne Brigade by 1982

The question is when did the Red/Black Logistics DZ Flash worn by RCT/RAOC/REME within the Parachute Logistic Regiment start to be worn? and were nylon DZ Flashes produced for units earlier than the mid 1970's? I think they were.

Thanks for the comments on these two.
Regarding the possible RAOC, I have a 5th Airborne Brigade woven DZ patch so if that was woven, could there have also been a woven version of the RAOC unit attached to the Brigade?
I have attached a scan of the 5 Abn Bde HQ patch.
