SJFHQ
Another "Combined Operations" variant: the sign on the left has been described to me as being that worn on the left arm by the relatively newly-formed Standing Joint Force Headquarters (SJFHQ). It is formatted to have all components - when worn - facing the front. On the left is the Joint Force Headquarters sign.

The badge on the right in the image has been worn in Joint Forces Headquarters for many years, also worn in black on DDPM and light brown on a sand colour.
Not seen the woven one. Marc

Tall tale. It has more to do with which arm it was worn on and the fact that MTP now puts the formation patch on the LH arm where as they have been worn on the right with DPM.
JFHQ Herrick had badges facing both way for the same reason.

And another, same vintage I think, also EonF on a square - TSMG facing left, bird facing right. In the days of Battledress one knew where one was - facing pairs. Mike

That's as may be but the following link shows the Black and red square gun forward on the right arm by a signaller pre 2013 and the issue of MTP. 256 Sqn supported the JFHQ at that time. I know the Sqn OC from that time and he wore that badge on his smock.
