Breconshire waist belt clasp
Can anyone please tell me who would have worn this waist belt clasp?
Is it a military or a Police or some other organisation? I can find nothing about a similar WBC on the internet. The title scroll is stamped into the plate whilst the dragon is separate and held in place by a pin. |

The design with that form of scroll is reminiscent of police badges rather than military items

Jerry,
many thanks, it is certainly reminiscent of a police shoulder badge that I once owned. The belt is intact and not in the best of condition but certainly has some age. Simon. |

There are images online of police constables in Glamorgan wearing buckles of identical design apart from the change of name.

Police items are White Metal. Is this WM?

Yes, it is white metal but it is in an absolutely dirty condition. The leather will need a good clean and I am sure the WBC will respond to a short soak in diluted vinegar. Once restored I will post results.
I won this lot which included a 1937 pattern webbing belt and will pick it up tomorrow morning. Simon |

Yes, a Breconshire Constabulary belt and plate. The dragon does not seem complete at its rear end.
