Default British Legion Cap Badge - Volunteer Police or Band?

Hi All,

I've bought this cap badge and to me it looks like the volunteer police force one shown and described on this link:

http://www.legion-memorabilia.org.uk/index1.htm

I'm looking for help / opinions, would people agree or is it a bandsman's and if so, how do you tell?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi
When I got one of these a few years ago I was told that it was a standard bearers beret badge how ever I think its more of the British Legion beret badge for those who are on parades on duty ? Steve

I think it could be described as a VPF badge. Not to say it didnt continue on in use. The VPF badges did have the long narrow slider. Bearer's badges had a thicker slider and a smaller lion.
