Default Eton College OTC

Hi,
was the cap badge for Eton College only produced in white metal.
I know that in K & K he states that in is in white metal but have come across this badge and it does not look like it is in white metal but brass, I also think that it has lugs on the back not a slider.
have looked at Alan O's album and he has a white metal badge but not sure about this one.
Any help would be great.
Andy

The Eton badge in my album is bladed. This is almost unique for a School OTC. In 1937 E.Martin stated that that the School's badges were all chromed so they did not need polishing.
A picture of the reverse would help.

It has one blade missing rather than being lugged for a split pin. The badge looks right to me despite being the wrong metal. Cadet Corps badges are not well documented so it is either a Cadet Officers bronzed badge or an early version. You might email the School Cadet Force and see if they can help.

Looking at photos on the web, the current badges appear to be "gold" coloured. Possibly anodised aluminium. Older images show them having a "brass" coloured finish. Nothing resembling chrome.

Dave.
