Default Windsor Grammar School badge

Does anyone have any information on this badge? Windsor Grammar School was not an OTC. The badge shown is not the same as the school badge either: http://www.theroyalwindsorwebsite.co...drangle800.jpg. There was a CCF raised post WW2 so it's candidate for the CCF but unlikely.

I've emailed a cousin who I think was a pupil and possibly a cadet-badge might be from before is time though. It looks a badge more generally Royal Berkshire related. There is the Harte and Garter hotel in Windsor. Regards, Paul.

Thanks. It looks like something worn on a council or hotel livery rather than a cap badge. As the school did not have an OTC and the badge does not match the school insignia I am dubious it is cadet related. The school badge does have a set of antlers in it but that is as far as the resemblance goes.

Fattorini did make military badges but had a huge variety of civilian badges as that was their primary market.

Yes- Hart and Oak tree have related to Berkshire for some time. http://abcounties.com/flags/2014/01/28/berkshire-2/
I would have expected to see an image of the castle on a badge. Regards, Paul.

It's funny you mention as the school cap looked like this one. There is a deer but no tree and there is a castle. I have established that the school did have a cadet corps in WW2 as they get a mention here: http://www.theroyalwindsorwebsite.co...heSoldier.html

This was Faringdon County GS

Amazing what's on the net: Youtube : Allenby Aka Lord Allgiby (1929) 1929 Windsor County School cadet corps being inspected by Allenby. They are wearing Berkshire Regiment cap badges. Rather unsurprisingly they were affiliated to the Berkshire Regt as one of their cadet coys. http://digital.nls.uk/british-milita...chive/88784479
